Add the app to your phone's home screen

Karven works in your phone's web browser, and you can add it to your home screen. It then gets its own icon and opens full screen like any other app, straight to Today. There's nothing to download from an app store and nothing to update: you always get the latest version.

On an iPhone

1. Open karven.com.au in Safari and sign in.
2. Tap the Share button. It's the square with an arrow pointing up, at the bottom of the screen. On newer iPhones it's under the ••• button.
3. Scroll down the list and tap Add to Home Screen.
4. Leave the name as Karven and tap Add.

The orange Karven icon is now on your home screen. Tap it to open Karven.

If you use Chrome or another browser on your iPhone, open karven.com.au in Safari for these steps. Some iPhone browsers don't have Add to Home Screen.

On an Android phone

1. Open karven.com.au in Chrome and sign in.
2. If Today shows an Install Karven button, tap it, then tap Install. You're done.
3. No button? Tap the three dots at the top right of Chrome.
4. Tap Add to Home screen (on some phones it says Install app), then tap Install.

The Karven icon is now on your home screen, and in your app list.

Signing in on the home screen app

The home screen app keeps its own sign-in. On an iPhone it's separate from Safari, so you sign in once more the first time you open it. After that it stays signed in when you close it or restart your phone, the same as your browser does.

Sign in inside the app with your email and password. If you sign in with an emailed code, type the 6-digit code from the email into the app. Don't tap the link in that email: links from your mail app open in your browser, so they sign in your browser, not the app.

Good to know

• Links to other sites open in your browser. Your Stripe dashboard, Gmail and the like open in your phone's browser, so Karven stays where you left it.
• No signal? Karven needs the internet to load a page. Out of range, you'll see a "No signal right now" page with a Try again button. Anything you already saved is safe.
• Your customers don't need the app. The quote link you send them opens as a normal web page on their phone.
• To remove it, press and hold the icon and choose Remove App (iPhone) or Uninstall (Android). Your account and quotes aren't touched.
